Tips for searching
Within the isurv search there are a number of shortcuts that could help you find the information that you need.
'+' search
isurv ignores common words and characters such as and, where, the, how and other digits that slow down your search without improving the results.
If a common word is essential to getting the results you want you can be sure it is included by putting a '+' in front of the word (for example, Rights +to light). (Be sure to include a space before the plus sign.)
'-' search
Equally if there is a particular term that you wanted to exclude from your search (for example, if you wanted to search on 'code' without getting all of the results for the RICS Code of Measuring Practice) you can just insert a '-' in front of the word (for example, code -measuring).
"Exact phrase" search
If you are searching for a particular phrase (Such as the title of a piece of official material or a particular case) you can make sure that only results that contain your exact phrase by placing quote marks at either end of the phrase (for example, "Agreement between the Landlord and Agent").
'OR' search
To find pages that include either of two search terms, add an uppercase OR between the terms (for example, Adjudication OR Arbitration).
Fill in the blanks search
Sometimes the best way to ask a question is to get the isurv search 'fill in the blank for you. You can do this by adding an asterisk '*' in the part of the sentence or question that you want filled in (for example, contamination * professionals).
